This weekend, catch up with the content of your favorite print magazines with our online access to Flipster!

Flipster includes over 1,800 full image print magazines, including Rolling Stone, National Geographic, Bloomberg Businessweek, The New Yorker, and Time. There are titles for cooking, crafting, sports, entertainment, and more.

Extended Due Dates

If you have a book checked out during this time, don’t worry! We will send you a reminder to renew one week before your book is due. Once you renew, your new due date will be set to December 2020.

If you are in the Class of 2020, please return all materials to us by July 15th. USPS media mail is the cheapest return option.

New Online Content – Database Trials

We are pleased to announce that in addition to our regular subscription databases, the library now has access to several trial databases, including Theatre, Performance, and Design Collection, Music and Dance Online, Cold War Eastern Europe, and NewspaperARCHIVE. Access these trials, as well as our other databases from the A-Z page:

Be sure to check back in on this list, as we will be adding even more trials as they become available!

Please note that we will no longer have access to the trial databases once the trial periods end. Thank you to the database publishers for opening these trials in response to the widespread online learning environment!

March 18th Update – Library Access

As of this morning (3/18), here is the latest update regarding our services:

Dinand library will be open for pickup/drop off of materials, via the front entrance, M-F 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, only. This service is limited to faculty, and materials must be requested in advance.

MUSIC Library and the SCIENCE Library will close effective Thursday, March 19th, 2020 until further notice.

Numerous other services are still available through the end of the Spring 2020 semester. Please see our guide: for a complete description of services and contact information.

Library Services Update

If you visit Dinand during this time:

  • Please enter Dinand via the front entrance.
  • We have created a social distancing perimeter around the Circulation Desk. Please stand behind the perimeter so that we may keep 6 feet between each other.
  • Until further notice patrons may use the Main Reading Room and the West Wing (window side) for studying; practice social distancing (3-6 feet).

  • Electronic (Document) Delivery of book chapters & articles is available to students through the end of Spring 2020 semester via ILLiad.

    Library Hours Starting 3/16

    Starting tomorrow, from 3/16 – 3/20, the campus libraries will be open to Holy Cross students, faculty and staff from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. We will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

    Beginning March 23rd, Dinand Library will be open to students, faculty and staff Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The Music Library will be open Monday – Tuesday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The Science Library will be open Monday – Tuesday, 8:30 am – 1pm, and Wednesday – Thursday 12 pm – 4:30 pm. These hours are subject to change at any time.
